Our Director and Lead teacher, Mrs. Leslie Roberts

Mrs. Roberts, steps into the role of Director at Gateway Academy with a unique and enriching background in both healthcare and education. After spending six years as an LVN and Registered Nurse, Leslie developed a strong foundation in leadership, communication, and individualized care—skills that translate seamlessly into the world of education.

Her passion for education began long before this role, as she consistently found herself drawn to mentoring, coaching, and teaching. Now, as Director, Leslie is eager to bring that same person-centered mindset into the classroom—nurturing not just academic achievement, but the emotional and social development of each child.

Leslie is a proud wife and mother to a lively 4-year-old daughter and a sweet newborn son, which gives her a deeply personal understanding of the trust families place in their school community. She is committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and structured environment where students thrive and families feel supported.

With a heart for service and a vision for excellence, Leslie looks forward to working collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to continue building a school culture that values learning, character, and connection. 

Our P.E. Teacher, Coach Alicia!

Alicia was born and raised in Canton, Tx. She graduated from Canton High School in 2022! Alicia has been with STEPZ All Star Gym for 5 years as a Summer Program and After-School program Coach! Alicia will play an active role in Gateway Academy by being the PE Teacher. She is excited to teach gym class and have a fun year with the kids!
